Become an Ambassador. We are looking for ambassadors who will help us raise awareness and much-needed funds for disadvantaged groups in Africa. Can you help?

Whether you decide to organise something yourself or participate in a sponsored event, being an ambassador is an exciting and active way to get involved with our charity. There are many ways you can contribute:

Organise an event

Organising your own event is a fantastic way to help raise money for SOS Sahel UK. Whether you decide to shave off your beard like Maurice Baren did, organise a quiz night or a coffee morning, climb a mountain, jump from a plane, sell some unwanted goods or have a plant sale, we would love to hear from you.

Take a sponsored challenge

Already got a place for this year's London Marathon, Mazda London Triathlon, Great North Run or other big sporting event? Have you decided who to donate your sponsorship money to? Why not support dryland Africa by running for SOS Sahel UK! If running is not your thing, you can always do a sky-dive or a sponsored silence.

Fundraise in your community

There are many ways you can fundraise in a group; either at school, church, work or activity clubs and support African communities. Why not organise a sponsored walk, hold a cake sale or have a dress down day? Even face-painting can be a fun and creative way to raise money for charity.

We have plenty more event ideas & support to offer you:

  • A fundraising pack that includes donation forms and fundraising tips
  • Advice on setting up your own online fundraising page
  • One of our limited edition organic cotton t-shirts
  • Legal and safety advice

Please get in touch and let us know about your event so that we can help maximise your fundraising.

Judith & Maurice Baren Keighley Rotary Club. ''In the early days, I would go about raising donations for SOS Sahel though word-of-mouth: local churches, Radio Bristol, coffee mornings, and Bring-&-Buy sales. I had a stand at Somerton Science Festival for three years from which I collected money, as well as from the sale of fruit, plants and glove puppets, private lessons, bell-ringing for weddings, car drives and the use of my phone among other things!''
